The Student Collective of TISS, Hyderabad comes into existence with the beginning of the December 2018 protest. The protest is an act of resistance towards the recent arbitrary decisions taken by the TISS, Mumbai administration to defer the B.A. course in Social Sciences and make TISS, Hyderabad non-residential. The students demand the reinstatement of the B.A. course, residential tag to the college and ask for more accountability and transparency from the administration on the issues of GoI-PM Scholarships. The student body includes:
- Student Action Committee (SAC), a body formed with representations from all the BA-MA batches, EOC (Equal Opportunity Cell), CGPC (Career Guidance Placement Cell) and M.Phil-PhD representations.
- The Media Team, responsible for handling the press, outreach, social media campaigns and media interaction.
- The Legal Team, responsible for legal proceedings and filing of RTIs, Petitions etc.
- The General Student Body
